Discounters ruled the roost when it came to bird seed sales. As a premium quality, premium-priced brand, the new owners of Gardman needed a way to rebuild their long-neglected relationship with the UK’s garden centres and persuade visitors to pay that little extra.
With interest in the nation’s disappearing garden birds soaring, we created a rallying campaign to help boost their numbers, and Gardman’s, too. Our ‘Wild Bird Banquet’ educated shoppers on how good nutrition can increase the number and variety of garden birds, and gave them plenty of reasons to fill their feeders with Gardman’s every night.
Working in partnership with the British Ornithology Trust, we used FOS displays, tailored POS, tactical promotions, free bird spotting kits and in-store talks to take over garden centres, and encouraged shoppers to stock up and join the Wild Bird Survey.
